Your Huddled Masses

This project was for a panel discussion about the United States as a place of refuge. The panel was coupled with an exhibition at the Neuberger for “Crossing the Blvd.”, that is also a book by Warren Lehrer that deals with Queens and its inhabitants. The style of the card was suppose to be somewhat similar to the design of the book and exhbition. This was done by using the Base Nine typeface that is unique enough to tie the two together without having to go much further.

The concept for the cover was to crowd the type off the page to allude to the tight cramped feeling of living in an urban environment. The pictures inside were also cropped for the same effect. These photos were provided by Mr. Lehrer and are all of people in the book and exhibition.
